He graduated after four years from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He served as a Lawyer for more than 25 years. Furthermore, he was elected as Prefectural Council and served as Chairman of the Prefectural Council. He is a member of the Bar Association of Kavala and Chairman of the Regional Council since 2016. Andromachi Drouza was born and raised in Nafplio, Argolida GREECE. Norella Ntella is a mother with almost 15 years of professional experience in sales and communication. With her husband Christos Stamatis, a successful businessman and her personal mentor, they established a wonderful family together with their two beautiful daughters, Elena and Elvira. Norella graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Total Quality Management from the American College of Greece, Deere College in 2002. During the years 2003-2011, she worked as an insurance broker in her family business. Additionally, at that time she served as the quality advisor of this company. 2013 she joined her husband’s business and from 2014 holds the title of communication manager in LaMiaStevia. Since 2017, she focuses on female entrepreneurship and empowerment of women especially in rural areas to overcome the barriers and find new ways to collaborate and become productive for themselves and their families. Dr Alexandros Papachristophorou has a PhD on Apiculture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and holds the position of Vice-President of the European Professional Beekeepers Association (EPBA). He teaches apiculture and bee products at the Aegean University of Greece and at the University of Technology in Cyprus. He has served as a researcher at the department of Biology, AUTH and at the French National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS). He has published numerous papers in various peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as in European or World congresses. The last two years his research is focused on the bee products for the islands of Lemnos and Samothraki.

He is a member of the International Scientific Advisory Board of the local association “Sustainable Samothraki”.

Marina Fischer-Kowalski, long-term director of the Institute for Social Ecology, senior lecturer at Vienna University. She has been, inter alia, President of the International Society for Industrial Ecology, and President of the International Society for Ecological Economics. She is member of the UNESCO Committee for Man-and-Biosphere Reserves in Austria. Originally a tourist visitor, upon request by local citizens, she has been engaging in research on Samothraki since 2008, in collaboration with scientists from the Hellenic Centre of Marine Research, the University of Waterloo and Yale University. She is organizing annual Summer Schools on the island for international students to learn and help with the research, and chairs the International Science Board of the local association Sustainable Samothraki. In 2012, she was awarded Honorary Citizenship of Samothraki.

Konstantinos Rigopoulos has Samothracean ancestry. He was born in Alexandroupolis in 1985. He holds a PhD in Marketing from Nyenrode Business Universiteit, an MSc in Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management and a degree in Marketing and Communications from Athens University of Economics and Business. From 2009 till 2012 he managed two successful retailing companies, and from 2012 he works for Eldorado Gold Corp. More specifically, he works as administration manager in Thracean Gold Mining and as deputy corporate social responsibility manager in Hellas Gold. Finally, he is a guest lecturer at Greenwich University, London and Bocconi University, Milan.

Mayor of Samothrace
Athanasios Vitsas was born in Samothraki in 1965 and graduated from the General Lyceum of Samothraki in 1983. He is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Ioannina. He worked for many years as a mathematician in the private sector in Alexandroupolis. In 2007, he was appointed in secondary education and served until June 2014. His love for Samothrace has prompted him early to work with the municipal affairs of the island mainly through the Cultural Association of Samothraki, which for many years was the only cultural activity on the island. He was a founding member of the Association and was repeatedly a chairman and member of the Board of Directors. During the period 2001-2002, he was a member of the founding and editorial team of the local monthly newspaper “Samothrace Pages”. From January 2003 to May 2005, he was appointed Director of the Municipal Development Enterprise of Samothraki. In the 2006 Municipal Elections, he was elected Municipal Councilor of the opposition. In the next municipal elections (2010) he was elected Municipal Councilor with the majority. He served as Deputy Mayor of Samothrace from January 2011 until June 2012. In the 2014 elections, he headed the party of “Municipal Union of Samothrace” and was elected Mayor. Since September 1st, 2014, he serves as Mayor of Samothrace.
